Information we use and why
Providing and securing the website
When you request a page, our hosting provider may process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time. This is necessary to deliver and secure the website. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating a reliable and secure public website.
Website analytics
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device information, and a randomly generated identifier. We use this to understand website use and improve the information we publish. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by selecting “Manage cookies” in the footer.
Contacting us
If you contact us by email or telephone, we use the contact details and information you provide to respond and to deal with your enquiry. Depending on the enquiry, we do this to take steps at your request, meet a legal duty, or pursue our legitimate interests in managing the Co-operative and its services.
We do not use information from this website for automated decision-making, profiling or direct marketing, and we do not sell personal information.
Who receives information
We use service providers to host this website and, if you consent, Google Analytics to provide usage statistics. They process information under their contractual and legal obligations. We may also disclose information where the law requires it or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Google may process analytics information outside the United Kingdom. Where personal information is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards must be used under UK data protection law. For more information, see Google's privacy policy.
How long we keep information
Analytics cookies remain for the periods shown above unless you remove them sooner. We keep analytics reports only while they remain useful for understanding and improving the website. Hosting security logs are kept in line with the hosting provider's security and operational retention periods.
We keep correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the enquiry and to meet relevant housing, accounting, legal or regulatory requirements. We review information and securely delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to its use, and receive a portable copy. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. These rights can be limited in some circumstances.
Contact us using the details above to exercise your rights. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
